Ammonite Thermo Battery Review
Ammonite Accu Thermo Review
Ammonite Accu Thermo
The Ammonite Accu Thermo battery range is designed to have a dual output, this allows you to run both your heating elements and your Primary Light of the same battery pack, if you so desire.
The battery comes in two output ranges, 24amps and 14amps, the new 14amp edition was specifically put in place to allow users to travel with these batteries as new airline restrictions do not allow for anything bigger. With an in water weight of less than 3/4 of a KG, they sit nicely on your webbing and the E/O connector lead is long enough to reach the other end of the heated valve lead on your suit without any need of extender cables, unless you're sidemounting and you are putting the battery on the bottom of your harness. The LED shows if the battery is working and gives you rudimentary information about it's charge stage. It features a nice big sliding button with a click locator, allowing you to change the power output.
What We Liked
- The high quality finish of the product, it's certainly well made.
- The big Power Adjuster for the E/O cable
- The relative light weight compared to the amount of power it packs.
- The LED indicator.
What We Disliked
- That there isn't a way of splitting a 24amp battery for travel.
- That there are only 3 setting for E/O power, full-75%-off
The Ammonite Accu Thermo battery for heating systems such as the Santi Heated Vest/Suit/Gloves is a versitile battery that will accept a range of light heads from Ammonite or other manufacturers that use the same connector. It's solid high quality construction and relative low weight makes for a very affordable dual output power bank that will keep you warm and illuminated throughout your dive.
