Night & Limited Viz. Specialty
Introduction
This RAID Specialty Program provides the skills and knowledge required to safely and comfortably dive at night or in limited visibility conditions. Some of the ocean's most amazing creatures only come out at night, so your dive doesn't have to end when the sun goes down. In the UK some of the dive sites will have limited visibility, having a light with you can prove an invaluable communication tool.
You will learn how to enter and exit the water, use specialized equipment, and how to communicate and dive with a buddy at night or in limited visibility.
Who is this for?
If you're 15 years or older, and have a RAID Open Water 20 certification (or equivalent) you may enter into this specialty program.
Maybe you want to dive at night, maybe you want to learn how to communicate with a torch in less than optimal conditions, either way this program is for you and a lot of fun!
What Will you learn?
We'll teach you how to prepare for a dive at night, how the site can look completely different and how marine life reacts to the light. We'll also teach you how to communicate with with your torch and what different types of torches there are.
You'll walk away with some real experience and more equipped to deal with less optimal dive conditions.
Pricing & Duration
The RAID Night Diving and Limited Viz course spans over 1 day at the local dive site, practicing with basic techniques, and 1 actual night dive (either in a quarry or the sea) The course includes all your learning materials, your certification, tuition and use of a basic torch. Any other equipment required can be rented at a reduced reduced rate.
