Navigation Specialty
Introduction
This Speciality is designed to extend your knowledge and skills in the use of navigational tools and techniques for Scuba Diving.
It develops the knowledge required to plan, prepare and analyse the dive site and plan so your dive will benefit from reduced stress and confusion, allowing you to enhance your diving experience and know where you're going!
Who is this for?
If you're 15 years or older, and have a RAID Open Water 20 certificate (or equivalent) you can start this Specialty Course in Underwater Navigation. If you don't just want to follow someone else around but want to have an active input during the planning as well as the underwater phase of the dive then this specialty is for you.
What Will you learn?
You’ll learn about environmental clues which aid natural navigation, various useful patterns applicable to diving with a compass, techniques for estimating distance, pre-dive observation skills.
You'll learn how working as a team can make the task easier and safer.
Pricing & Duration
The RAID Underwater Navigation Specialty takes place in the open water over an entire day. Course price includes learning materials, certification, tuition, use of a compass and a line. Other equipment can be rented at a reduced rate.
